I am using the links module on my site to show the menu items under a page for navigation. I deleted a test page, but it is still showing up in the links section even though the page is deleted. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

  • DNN Version Number: 06.01.02 (98)
  • Links module Version Number: 6.0.2
  • Trust level (most shared installs will be Medium Trust): I have no idea on this. I am installed on PowerDNN, so probably medium
  • Server Operation System (if known): no clue
  • Steps to reproduce the issue:
  1. Added the module to one page, but it was pointing to a different menu item.
  2. Added a new test page under the desired menu item.
  3. deleted the new test page.
  4. Switched the module on the target page to point to the desired menu item
  5. The deleted page shows up in the links even though it is in my recycle bin.

Delete the page from the recycyle bin OR (if you need to keep the page), Undelete the page, change its visibility or move it to a new place in the navigation structure THEN delete it.

"Deleted" pages still exist.  It would seem that the "pages" option from the Links modules does not concern itself as to whether the page is in the Recycle Bin or not.

Deleting the page permanently fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
