Can someone give me the fix to enable the RSS feeds to work on GoDaddy. I get the following error:

News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message:Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

Thanks...
Ed

For those considering DNN on GoDaddy, below is the latest exchange between GoDaddy support and me re: DNN + RSS + GoDaddy hosting.

Note that I pointed out that I couldn't even make THEIR RSS feed work even though my web site is on THEIR servers. It just gets funnier and funnier that they make zero attempt to help. Read mine at bottom and then scroll up to read their response. Some things you just can't make up. At least this time someone actually scanned over what I wrote before they sent me a canned response...

Judge for yourself:

Dear Ed,

Thank you for contacting Online Support.

As DotNetNuke is considered third party software that we provide as a courtesy we do not offer support, troubleshooting or scripting. Thank you for your time.

We recently enabled outgoing http and https connections for our web hosting customers. These connections will take place via a proxy server, which will be completely transparent for you. Applications that need to make https connections (port 443) will need to be made "proxy aware". This will require additional coding to varying degrees, depending on the application. You will need to know the server and port of the proxy server in order to correctly modify your code. The proxy server is proxy.shr.secureserver.net and connections will be made on port 3128.

Sincerely,

Mason G.

Here is the error in DotNetNuke supplied by YOU and installed by YOU and run on YOUR servers while trying to access YOUR OWN RSS feed: I can't even run YOUR RSS feed on YOUR server.

News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message:Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

in the proxy field in DNN your install auto placed proxy.shr.secureserver.net port 3128 uname/pword are blank. Is this correct?

Thanks...
Ed

Latest on my efforts with DNN, RSS and GoatDaddy:

After reading about every post on here concerning DNN and RSS, I checked web.config and trust was Medium. I added a line for fox news feed at trust = High, paste follows.

<!-- set code access security trust level - this is generally set in the machine.config
<trust level="Medium" originUrl=".*" />
<trust level="High" originUrl="www.foxnews.com/*"/>
-->
<!-- set debugmode to false

Still same error as before. Proxy and port are in the site settings so that ain't it. Anybody got any more ideas? I guess I am just plain blocked at the machine level with no-override set.

I have read everything on this site I think and Googled/read till I went almost blind out there until a sign popped up on my screen that read "Dead End. You have reached the end of the Internet".. I'm screwed. There ain't no docs/suggestions/complaints left to read about GoDaddy + RSS + DNN...

I don't know what GoDaddy has changed but an old site we had on there had functional RSS w/ older DNN with just the proxy set. I guess I'm just plain screwed. GoDaddy's own RSS feed won't even work in DNN on GoDaddy's own servers but "that's not a GoDaddy problem".... Geeze....

Thanks
Ed
I'm no expert but I religiously endeavor  to make up for it with intense confusion....

Ed,

With all of your changes have you always received the same error message?

I have a feeling that there might not be much you can do about this..

I figured it out.  Just remove the proxy info from the DNN host settings entirely.
