Hi

New to DNN and I need help with the following issue.

We paid for a custom Javascript newsfeed from Thomson Legal to put 6x news headlines in a Headline Box on our client's Home Page with text links to the full news stories displayed within our website.

The JavaScript supplied calls and processes an ASP script on their server which sends through the feeds to our 2x pages.

O
ur problem is this newsfeed will not display in any DotNetNuke module we try (Newsfeed and Text/HTML) in Public view.  BUT if you are logged into the website, the JavaScript Newsfeed does display OK - WHY?

As Thomson Legal do not offer RSS Newsfeeds we want to establish if it's possible to display their Javascript newsfeed without having to hard code the JavaScript code supplied into the page where we want it to display.

Does anyone know of a FAST, EASY way to either :

1) get the supplied Javascript to either display correctly on a page in DNN?
(Thomson Legal claim that their Javascript call up line will not process through a dynamic system like DNN)

and/or

2) Know of any technique /software to convert the supplied Javascript call to an RSS Newsfeed for insertion into DNN's core RSS Newsfeed Module?

Thanx
MikeT

Mike, please help me. What is a Javascript newsfeed?

I guess this is a code snipped you can insert into any html page and shows up your desired news? So Text/Html will do its job. If you can see it only when you are logged it you will need to set up viewing permission vor that module to all users.

A DotNetNuke module itself is not able to process any Javascript - JavaScript runs on client side inside your browser. A regular newsfeed contains only the data and the Newsmodule will help to transform this data into html. This is done server side - your browser will not get raw data but its html representation.

So you would like to post 6 headlines? Where do they come from? Do you feed its content?
