Hi,

I'm having trouble with installing Survey Module on production site running on shared host (Medium trust). It's dnn version 4.3.5. and every thing is ok except I cannot install any of the “Source code” modules (XML and Reports module as well), and don't know what to do.

I even tried to manually add folders under App_Code, and add “codeSubDirectories …”   in web config, but all I have is dnn error and then I have to remove it in order to have the site back and running.

Do you have any suggestions about this case? How can Survey module be installed in such environment? What is exactly needed to be allowed on host to install these modules? Is it a full trust (it will cost me $50 more so I would like to avoid it, if possible)?

Please help.

john

The Survey module runs under partial trust. Can you post the exact error that you receive. Also do you have a previous version of the Survey module installed?

Hi Michael,

thanks for your quick answer, and sorry for my delay in re-answer.

Yes, I had previous version installed (Survey v.3.3) and first I tryed to make an upgrade but it failed, then I removed previous version completely (delete module definition and remove .dll's) then I tryed to make new (clean?) install of the Survey (from 4.0.30 to 4.0.85.) an have this error:

What do you think about that ?

Thanks

John

Hi there, i am using Medium Trust environment too,

My settings:

Create virtual directories for:

App_Code

App_Code\ModuleName (where ModuleName is your module name, e.g Survey  would be App_Code\Survey) Only create these virtual directories for modules that require custom trust level)

With Read and Write Permissions

Also define codesubdirectories under web.config for these dirs.

I'm sorry I do not know what the problem is. It's not the code.
