 Hi,

I'm trying to hardcode a survey module into the edit skin (which doesnt allow adding in of modules) so I've got as far as registering the module and getting it on the page. but now it's throwing an error because it doesnt know which module id to use.

Now the question is, is there a way to 'trick' it into thinking it is module id, say, 123?

The Survey module inherits from PortalModuleBase. It determines what the Module ID is.

Why are you trying to do this? Perhaps there is another way to achieve your ultimate desired result.

so is there anyway to trick ProtalModuleBase into thinking it is Module ID 123?

The end result I'm looking for is to hard-code the survey module into the Edit Skin. (Since it doesnt allow the insertion of modules and I want it to look the same as the regular skin). I'm open to other methods as well if any one has any

TIA!

This is the point where I am lost. What do you mean by the "The Edit Skin"?

Do you mean the skin that shows up when you are editing a module? Do you mean the skin that causes all the other modules on the page to disappear? Is it that you want the Survey module to still show even though it is not the one being edited?

  I think that's the skin.

But just so we're talking about the same one. Under Admin -> Site Settings -> Appearance there are two skins that can be specified here. The normal skin and the edit skin.

But yes, the edit skin is pretty much the one where you go to edit something.

So, if I can't trick it into thinking it's module id #123. is there anyway to make it a skin object? or is there anyway that I can get this to work or am I attempting the impossible?
