If any of you are fimiliar with Scott McCulloch's news articles module you know how it works when inserting an exisiting module into another page. The new instance can be filtered by catregory without impacting the parent version. The power of this allows you to have a "Master" module where you can display ALL of your news and then insert other "copied" instances of the module throughtout the site, filter and skin them to deliver your content to the target audience of that page or area. The same thing would be very valuable with the repository module.

As an example I may want to offer the following resources:

Books
Links
Audio
Video
Documents
Contacts
Graphics

As the module functions right now a single template is not suited the best to deliver all of those categories. The graphics require on template, the video another and the contact need the business card template.

I know I can insert another instance of the module on another page, but changing the template impacts all instances and there is no way to filter by category.

Did I explain this ok?

Can it be done?

Yes you explained it okay (at least to a fellow user of New's Articles :) ). I'll add it to Gemini as an enhancement.
