How are you trying to edit the database?

You can write SQL Scripts to manipulate the data directly without issue.

Hi Mitchel,
Currently i have limited access to my SQL2000 db at Godaddy Control Panel. This limited access allows me to view and edit tables.
I dont know enough for writing SQL Scripts, i need to learn them:) but i need more time for this.

If you are looking to do a bulk update and set everything to one value I can quickly help you with the scripts if you want.  If you are looking for more advanced scripting you will need to get further access to your database and have a bit of time to practice and learn SQL.

Hmm bulk update sounds good, but i want to edit all items with orginal settings (added date, downloads etc)

Can you assist me with a sample script for editing only one item. And after that maybe i can customize this sample code for other items with changing itemid or some other fields.
Thanks

Can you do the following....

Get a listing of all old values from the repository tables (the fiields you are concerned with and key values at a minimum)

Also get a listing of all new values from the new repository tables.

If you can e-mail that to me I can write you a few example scripts to update the information.

Also, just out of curiosity, is the new database on the same server as the old one?  If so we can make this really easy!  Just shoot me an e-mail and I will get back to you tonight.
