Clear as mud.  I think I know how you're doing it. I'll try it over the weekend on my development box and will report back whether I can recreate it or not.

EDIT 1: Just tried it on a fresh install of DNN4.0.2 without a problem.

I have the exact same issue, just so you know it's not one person.  I am using SQL 2000 and upgraded the site from 3.1.1.  I actually want the uploads to be non-moderated so the fix someone mentioned in this will probably resolve my issue.

Thanks corbin. I'll try to get time to do an upgrade from a 3.1.1. site to a 4.0.2 site. When you guys upgraded, did you have to do anything different permission wise? What are the permissions of either the aspnet user or the network service user on the repository directory?

I did a complete remove (went into the DB and deleted the tables) and install.  I didn't customize as much stuff this time and it's working fine.  Here are some of the things that might have caused the problem.

-- I deleted the ALL category
-- I manually modified the category order in the DB (I had a lot of categories and it was taking too long with the GUI)
-- Added a bunch of attributes and then decided not to use them and deleted them
-- Used a custom template I created based on the 'default' template

I just had a chance to do a test 3.1.1 to 4.0.2 upgrade and didn't have any errors or messages when attempting to download a file. Don't know what to say gents.
