Hello,

I would like to add another (not sure if this is the correct term) module to the repository.  Something similar to the Dashboard.  I want it to be a module I can select just like the dashboard and link it to one of the installed repositories I have on the site.  My goal is to create a control that allows the user to select a list of categories that they want to see.  The when the user is logged in it will filter the repository accordingly.

The areas that I lack knowledge on are how do I add another "dashboard" to the repository so it will install correctly and show up as another module in the list installed on dnn?  Any pointers or sample code would be greatly appreciated.  Also, is it necessary to build an installer for this or is it possible to just replace the dll's installed on my site?

Thank you,

Dan

I would start by pulling down the repository source code (you'll need visual studio 2k3) and opening up the project there. You should be able to duplicate the dashboard and modify the duplicated control to do what you need if you're somewhat competent with .Net development.

I've personally modified the Repository quite a bit for a few projects, it's not too bad, though I much prefer development in VS2k5 nowadays, the repository source is still compiled against .Net 1.1

This next release of the Repository which is going through the Release Tracker currently is the last version being compiled against .NET 1.1 if I remember Steve right from another post.

That's not what I meant Steve! I meant it's not too difficult to modify the repository when necessary!
