Hi Steve,

I've run into a few issues with the latest beta when installing into a clean environment.

1) If I use the [URLCONTROLFILE] and enter a URL it gives me the below error

A critical error has occurred.
Public member 'FileName' on type 'String' not found.

2) If I select a file using the [URLCONTROLFILE] later I can not edit this entry for a Url

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

Found something alittle odd with the error message that I've been getting.  If I first associate the module with another template and add an entry everything works find.

Is this an issue with my template?  I can't really figure this one out.

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the feedback .. I'm not quite sure I'm following you though ...

Can you give me a step-by-step description of the issue you're seeing? Is this the same issue as your first post in this thread? or is this a second issue?

Hi Steve,

The first error was something kind of odd.  Basically I tried one of my templates and would get the following error everytime I tried to use a URL instead of a file.

A critical error has occurred.
Public member 'FileName' on type 'String' not found.

Then I switched by template to the default and was able to enter a URL without issue.  After saving the first record using the default template, I was able to switch my template back to my custom one and continue entering values without issue.  I'm not 100% why this happened, maybe it has something to do with this being a completely new installation of DNN?

The second thing I ran into was easier to figure out.  Maybe it is my template or mabye it is just me being a stupid user.  If I create an entry that is a file, then I want to switch it over to being a URL it doesn't allow me to switch the type from File to URL.

Sorry about all of the confusion, everything was running like gangbusters on my dev site and when I moved to prod, things seemed to gotten interesting.

Your last paragraph is interesting. Have you tried to edit your module (login as HOST). In general, when I switch from dev (local) to prod, I am obliged to edit the settings with host login, then confirm and update, and then I do not have any error left. Otherwise, I encounter similar issue.
