hey there!!!
 
my name is nikos, i am using DNN to build web sites. i have been using the repository module extensively. i use it "as is" and only change some settings. one of my clients wants me to have just the "categories" dropdown and not the "sort by" dropdown.
 
please help. have a look at the url below to see what i mean. i have tried to find a solution but i cannot. i have opened all the .ascx files in the repository directory but did not manage to fix it.
 
 
 
i am using the "articles" template for this repository.

Check out the documentation on templating. If you look in the Templates\Articles directory you'll see a header.html which is where you can remove the Sortby dropdown. I don't have a copy of the template in front of me at the moment so I can't give you the exact steps.

RE: removing the sort by option from the repository module

can you just remove the SORT drop down from header.html file or do you have to edit the header.xml as well?

just wondering if the following should be removed too (from header.xml) :

 <Object>
  <Token>[SORT]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>CssClass</Name>
    <Value>normal</Value>
   </Setting>
  </Settings>
 </Object>

and:

 <Object>
  <Token>[Sort]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>CssClass</Name>
    <Value>SubHead</Value>
   </Setting>
  </Settings>
 </Object>
 

..?

 just remove the token, no need to touch the xml file
