Has anyone use the repository for storing job postings?  I have just basic requirements of having  a category and subcategory to put the jobs in and to be searchable.  I'm guessing this could just be accomplished with a template, but I'm new to the module and wasn't sure if I was trying to re-invent the wheel.

I haven't tried with the repository, but I am using the property module by ventrian on one of my sites. It can do categories, search and featured jobs.

You should be able to develop a servicable template for job postings. I would probably suggest starting with the directory template and modify it as needed.
