Hello techies..

I'm developing an intranet website.. with a parent portal with 5 child portals (for five different locations)

I want to create a file sharing platform where users from different locations can share files between them (i wanted to avoid the use of FTP and looked for similar file transfer modules and found repository suits similar)

But, the repository doesnt seem to share the uploaded documents across portals.. is there any other way to do this? or is there any other free modules available which satisfies this requirement.. pls let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Saran

I too am eagerly awaiting this functionality but we'll all have to sit back and wait for version 4 I think.

I can't think of any at the moment that would fullfil that requirement however you may be able to get around that by sharing user logins between portals and then holding the repository on a separate portal or on the main parent portal.

In terms of a module this could be done using DNN Masters MPUS-X it is available on snow covered.

I haveimplemented a similar system with a main common repository... In that case I required that users have private areas that none of the other groups could access but also all of them have access to certain common resources.

Whilst creating separate portals for each location may be simple is this level of separation neccesary you were saying you wanted users to be able to share the files they are uploading.

What about creating loactions areas that are separated by security role and the you only need to have a common repository and it is only one portal to maintain.
