I installed newest version of dnn source on my xp machine

went through wizard set up db and install repository module source through module def page.

All that went fine

Now from what i have read to modify the code for repository module  all i have to do is open up repository sln file in vs.net 2003 but when i try to do that i always get

""unable to get project file from web server"". Thats because there is no vbproj file. What am i missing There is virtually no information on modifying a dnn module. This is hard to believe.

I just check the source package and there's a .vbproj file there. It's called DotNetNuke.Modules.Repository.vbproj. Are you working with a DotNetNuke three source version? The .sln file points to a source install of DNN (http://localhost/DotNetNuke/DotNetNuke.vbproj). That may be where the missing .vbproj error is coming from. If you are working with a source install of DNN 3 then you may have to open the .sln file in Notepad and edit the URL to point to your install.

You could try removing that line from the .sln file and seeing what happens. I haven't tried it myself.

I'm also going to move this to the Repository thread. Steve may have some better ideas (my brain is mush from working 16 hour days for the last two weeks).

Please look at the first post at the top of the Repository forum, it is a pinned post on how to make code changes to the Repository module.
