Hi all,

Let's say I am setting up something like this...

Page#01: Country-A    and     Page#02: Country-B

On Page#01 I then added the Repository and setup the module with categories and various attributes to how I want it to work - that's fine.

Now, for Page#02, I want the same setup except that the data is from Country-B..

So I figured I could do 1 of 2 things...

1st option: I simply copied Page#01 and also the modules in Page#01....the page gets created but the Repository module has not inherited the Categories and Attributes I had created for Page#01...which is a pity..:( so I would need to create all the same categories and attributes as I did before...can get tedious if I need to do it for many countries.

So, I thought maybe I am doing it wrong..:)..I then tried Adding an Existing Module ...selected Page#01 and was hoping to see the Repository Module there for me to add to Page#02....but no joy..the module is not available as an existing module for me to add.

I then tried to copy / move an instance of the module from Page#01...but the problem was that the data being displayed are always the same as for Page#01...i.e Country-A whereas I want Country-B's data. I did select the right settings but still no joy.

Question: is there any way for me to easily replicate the settings of the Repository Module from Page#01 and re-use it in all other similar pages without having to manually re-create it over and over each time I set up a new page ?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated...many thanks.

I'll try to do some testing over the next couple of days to see what happens. I'm pretty sure I've copied the module from one page to another before but I can't be 100% sure.

DrBix. What version of the Repository are you running? I've just tried with 3.1.8 in both 3.22 and 4.02 and the categories and attributes both stuck when I copied the page and when I selected an existing module.

Hi mikeh,

I am running v3.01.08 and DNN v4.02.

When you copied the page from Page#01-Country-A for example, I presume you just copied modules from the page to create the new page right ? Well my experience so far is this:

1. If I just copy the page and also indicate to copy the modules from that page but not the contents, then I will get the new page Page#02-Country-B with the same modules in it BUT of course without the categories or attributes which I created in the repository in Page#01-Country-A.

2. If I copy the page and also indicate to copy the modules as well as copy the module contents, YES I get Page#02-Country-B with al the modules and ALSO the categories and attributes which I created in the repository in Page#01-Country-A (just as you have experienced)..which in fact is what I am after....

However...the problem is this....

Anything that was uploaded to the repository on Page#01-Country-A also shows on the new Page#02-Country-B, and if I now upload a new file to the repository form Page#02-Country-B, it will also show up on Page#01-Country-A and vice-versa. And that is not what I want. I only want to display data uploaded from each country at the respective country pages.

I experimented further and used different folders for the Approved Files, but unfortunately it made no difference. I don't know how to prevent files from a different location to show if I use the COPY PAGE & COPY MODULES - the only way to prevent it so far has been to manually create all the same categories and attributes for a new country page - very tedious and I am sure there must be a way to avoid this....but I don;t know how..

Any other suggestions would be most welcomed..many thanks.

I should also mention this in addition to my last post:

When I changed the setting for the Folder for Approved Files in Page#01-Country-A or in Page#02-Country-B, the settings would affect BOTH the respoitory modules in both pages! Is that the way it is meant to be ???

It would appear that by copying, all properties stick and remain stuck. Is there a way to change this ?

Many thanks for any light anyone can shed on this.
