I want to use the repository as a file manager and am looking for someone to help me modify it.  What I would like to see is the ability to assign a security group to the upload so only that group or groups would be able to see the file listed, it would really be nice to also be able to assign edit permissions as well.  If anyone has any thoughts on this I would love to hear about it.

Hi Rob,

The Repository is a great file manager. Have you looked at the repository settings there is a section called Security roles, which is tied into the site roles you can set up for the website as a whole?  You can set which user roles have access to the file (download, who can upload files, who can rate or comment on the files and more. Obviously you can also use normal view/edit settings for the page or at the general module level to restrict who can see the file manager as well.

How familiar are you with DotNetNuke, perhaps I (or someone else) can be more specific if you need it?

 Hi Rob,

I would like to have this possibility as well. But I think this would require the possibilty to restrict access on a based on a DNN role and category. Currently there is only the option to allow downloading based on a role but not the combination. I sure hope this feature will make it into the next release of the repository module.

In addition it would be nice if there were an option to make files only visibible to users with certain roles.

Lets say I have a role clientA and one clientB. Users of both roles upload/download files that belong to them and can not see the other files.
