Is there a way to input files into the repository without actually uplaoding the files?  I have a folder that is an FTP site with alot of files in it that I want to add to my DNN portal.  I have access to the file system of the box through remote desktop.  I don't want to upload them into the module again.  How can I accomplish this?

Is there a synchronize feature I am missing?

I guess that is a no......

Are there any plans on adding a feature like this to the repository module?  Something that just lists files that are in a directory and makes them available for download?

Can someone suggest a module to do this?  Preferrably one that is not expensive.

Thanks.

There's Bring2mind Downloads free module. Unfortunately I don't have the web site link. Google it.

You can use the SimpleDownload-Module from Bring2Mind, located here: http://www.bring2mind.net/FreeStuff/tabid/179/Default.aspx?DetailId=6

I used it in the past to have access to another folder of my server.

Two things to mention: when there are many files, it takes some time, as the module "renders" the whole folder each time. Second, as far as i can remember, this specific folder must have accessrights to Network Service as well (like the DNN-Root-Folder).

Beside this, it works very well.

Cheers

Kai
