Hi Steve,
I would like to ask the following: Is the repository module able to run under medium trust conditions?

If I switch my dnn application to medium trust mode and activate page with repository module instance I am getting error:
Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.

The public token belongs to compiler item:
<compiler language="vb" type="Microsoft.VisualBasic.VBCodeProvider, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" extension=".VB" />

File system permissions are set correct. Repository module has version 3.01.15, dnn version 4.09.05, web server runs on Win2k3R2/IIS6.

Message from associated event log item:
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. at System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(Object demand, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean isPermSet) at System.Security.CodeAccessPermission.Demand() at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Repository.RepositoryBL.SetRepositoryFolders(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Repository.RepositoryDashboard.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) The action that failed was: Demand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Sorry, if this art of question is duplicated or obsolete but the search on dnn portal returns currently only error messages.

yes, the module should run just fine in Medium Trust

couple of things to check.

- do you have a /Portals/n/Repository folder? where n is your portal id

- in the module settings, do you have 'User Folders' checked?

The error appears to be hapenning in the SetRepositoryFolders() function. this checks to make sure all the required folders exist and if they don't, it will attempt to create them. It looks like the creation of a folder (CreateDirectory) is what is failing. Make sure your security settings allow NETWORKSERVICE to create new directories
