It's not an "OR" situation... it's an "AND" situation. Currently, if you select 3 roles as required, then the user must be a member of ALL 3 roles.

Hi Steve

Perhaps I was not clear. This is what I have /did:

I have 4 roles : Admin, Role1, Role2, Role3.

Now I am logged in as Admin, and I uploaded file1.
then under security roles for file1 I ticked Admin, role1, role2, and role3.

Then I signed out and then logged in as Role1

But when I tried to view file1, I don't see it.

Same thing if I log in as Role2 or Role3

What did I do wrong?

thanks
Jam

Thinking about your questions and my previous answer, I've come to the conclusion that the current implementation makes no sense.  It's highly unlikely you'll want to use security roles to require people to be members of multiple roles in order to see an item. So, I've made the change so that the security roles that you check off for an individual item will require that the user be a member of "any" of the checked off roles and not "all".

The beta will not be updated, but the change will be included in the official release to the Release Tracker next week.

It appears that i have to wait for my post to get approve before its posted.. I read your 2nd message regarding this issue before the post was approved.
yeah I think you got it right.. That is what will be useful for most people using repository module with security roles... I will wait for the release then
Thanks for your selfless support Steve!
