Is there a way to auto populate a category if one of it's sub-categories is picked? So Color would automatically be checked if Red is selected.

Color

    Red

    Biue

    Green

no there is not, from a UI perspective, I think that would be a problem.

If you have
[  ] Color
    [  ] Red
    [  ] White
    [  ]  Blue

To me it should work the other way than what you've asked for.  If I check "Color", then all the child properties should be checked, and only if I check all three child properties, Red, White and Blue, should the Color item be checked. As soon as one of the child properties is unchecked, then the parent should be unchecked.

Of course, that doesn't work either, but I think that is the way it *should* work.
