F.Y.I. - Page 20 (unable to view) of this forum has a "Critical error. object reference not set to an instance of an object".

I have several hundred documents in a DNN Document Library module, but due to the lack of seperate categories, I can not use it at the moment.....  I have been testing the Repository and with some changes to the template, it looks like this module will answer the call.  Is there a way to transfer all these documents to the Repository module without using the time consuming download/upload feature?

Thanks in advance

No, I am sorry but there is not. This feature ( bulk import ) is on the enhancements list, but unfortunately I not sure when it will be implemented. In fact it may never actually get implemented. Most likely the next major release of the Repository will begin using the core file handling functions for uploading which will provide the new non-secure, secure and database file storage options.

So, short answer, sorry but unless you ( or someone ) is up to writing a little code to automate the conversion process from Documents to Repository, there's no built-in solution at this time

Steve,

Integration with the core is what I am waiting for because I need the database file storage option. Do you have any idea when this will be ready?

Anam - I recently had to create some entries in a Repository and after looking at the tables I wrote a a quick update SQL script - took about 0.1 second to populate 200 entries ;)

Have alook at the table design - there are some other tables for attributes and categories if I remember correctly.

Mariette,
I'm hoping to include the usage of the core file manager/URL control in a release sometime in August.
