Hi all,

I'm not even sure this is specifically related to the Repository mod, but here we go... I've added the repository to a page, as I hit the 'add' button I received the dreaded "error 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.". Every time I return to this specific page now I get that error. The rest of the site works fine.

Please help me.

Best regards
Jesper

I'm not sure if it is or not as I've never seen an error like that. Are you storing your repository files on a network drive per chance?

I've battled this for some hours now and I think I've solved the problem. Here's what I did, maybe it'll help somebody else in the future:

I Configured TCP communication in the SQL Express surface config tool to explicitly use port 1433 (even with the firewall disabled the problem wasn't solved at first, but setting the port helped). Remember to restart the sql service.
As I browsed the page again I got a different error 'Cannot login to ASPState database'-something. I changed the session state mode (in the IIS ASP.NET configuration tool) from SQLServer to InProc. I have absolutely no idea what went wrong there, but appearantly that helped any way.

The installation I have is the starterkit for VS2005. Deployed it locally on my XP w/SP2 using VWD with SQLExpress. Absolutely nothing fancy or anything, so I'm surprised I had to struggle so much. The only thing I can think off would be security problems caused by restrictive policies set on my portable by the desktop administrator at work.

Any feedback / thoughts are more than welcome.

Cheers,

Jesper
