I bet this is a dumb question but I am asking it anyway. Is the repository the correct module to use to setup a page similar to the Directory page on this site? If so how do you get the links to display?

Yes, it is a very flexible module and you can change a skin to appear however you like - check the DotNetNuke Directory - this was done with that module.

In the DNN directory, how did they create the different categories, and they linked them and will show you how many links in there ?

What about sub categories?

The Repository Module comes with a companion 'Dashboard' module that will display the categories and item counts of a particular Repository module. The dashoard can be on the same page as the Repository module it's associated with, or even on a separate page.

The Repository does not currently support sub-categories, however, it does have a feature called 'Attributes' which can provide similar functionality. Refer to the Repository User's Guide for more information on Attributes.
