Hi,

I am using a column in a UDT to link to a WMV file located in the filesystem. I want the user to be able to click on the link and automatically play the clip. Now this all works well when using IE but in Firefox it only offers the option to save the file because it sees the link as 'linkclick.aspx?link=myvideo.wmv' and doesn't recognise it as a .wmv file. Is there anyway to allow it to link to the file directly rather than through LinkClick.aspx?

Thanks

Dale

I have same problem here! Not only with wmv files, but with all files, ON SOME BROWSERS!

So, thing is:
It offer to save file named LinkClick.aspx.
I save it.
When I open this file with compatible software (ie: doc with Word, xls with Excell), it works just fine, however, I can't expect user to know that. (file has stil aspx extension, couse it's named 'LinkClick.aspx' so client WinXP doesn't know what to do with it :))

Current behaivor:
On my computer it works fine. (IE7, FF2.0)
On my client coputer it behaves like this (it saves linkclick.aspx). File is complete and readable in compatibile software, but wrong name (and extension).

Worst thing is that my client goes home at 16:00, so I can't test it indefenetly. And girl got job of her own.

Please, help!

I have DNN 3.3.6, but on Host I got some costum developed modules, on many production portals, so I can't just update DNN to 4.5..

Tnx ppl,
Petar

sorry, it looks like the Link handler is not correcly registered in your browser. You might use Link datatype instead of Download, this will bypass the linkclick http handler, but not use folder security.
