Hi,

I'm using Rich Text Fields for storing articles. Once a while, I need to display xml or html data like in the following example:

    3 <div class="FeatureTitle">Retrieve data</div>

    4 <div class="FeatureContent">

For some reason, this goes wrong with the udt module. It looks like after a data item has been saved you get some strange results when this item is edited once again. There's a kind of mess happenning with tags.

I first tought FCK Editor could be the reason but this doesn't happens with other modules like forum or Text/HTML.

Am I missing something? Any information would be appreciated.

Regards,

Can you please tell us your DNN and UDT versions?

I am not aware of any special issue related to FCK  and UDT- I know that also blogs and forums has sometimes trouble with displaying HTML code.

Hi,

DNN Version : 4.05.05 - UDT Version : 3.04.

I would like to illustrate what's going wrong (at least on my side) with some screenshot.

1. I add an udt item rich text field that contains some html that needs to be displayed. At first, everything looks like it's working fine:

2. After saving the UDT item it will display like shown in following screen shot. Note that I'm using an xslt style sheet but the same is true using "Normal UDT_Table" for displaying data (I confirm I made the test).

3. When I edit the item once more, it looks like something has gone wrong with some tags as you can see in the following screen shot.

Could it be something related to the way data is saved to UDT and retrieved from it?

It looks like there's no problem with the same "text" when using the forum. Is there something wrong on my side?

Hope this complementary information will help.

Regards,

Hi,

I just gave it a try with the "Super User" account and strangely enough, data will be saved/displayed correctly in UDT.

Unfortunately, when I edit the UDT item (using the Super User account), still the ending "div" tag has been eaten at some stage and does not display correctly within FCKEditor (a shown in my previous post's screen shot).

  • what are your security settings in custom module settings?
  • did you modify fckeditor settings, especially the "processHTMLEntities" setting in fckconfig.js?
