Hi,

In "manage Table" version 03.04.00 there is an option to hide a field.
If you check "hide" the field is not showing in the table layout.
In admin mode you do not see the field either.
I think this is not logical.
If you check "hidden" the field must be shown in admin mode.
Only in public mode the field must be hidden.

For example the following situation:
I have a field [number] in my table for administrative purposes.
It is a serial number for a product.
Every time when I delete a product, the serial number is free again an can be used for another product.
To know which serial number is free, I sort the table on the field [number] and within a glimpse I can see what number is available.
Now I have to
- do "manage table" and unchecked the "hidden" number field.
- Then sort the table on number
- Check which number is free to use
- do "manage table" again.
- check "hidden" on the number field.

There are more administrative fields.
for example:
- sold
- available
- print (for different print layouts of the table)
etc. etc.

Can you realize this on another way with a template or so?
If above is not clear (English is not my native language) please do not hesitate to ask me a clarification.

With regards, Ton Hermes

PS. I love the UDT and use it a lot.

Ton,

visible colums were introduced some time before the View/edit options buttons inside the Control Panel.
I think you are totally right, it annoys me also every times. We should invert that logic again, maybe we should add a setting therefore

Ton,

I just noticed, that I mixed up the logic for the admin visibility - the hidden column is shown in edit mode and hidden in preview mode, though it was intended just vv. I apologize, this will be corrected in next version.
