Hello,

is it possible to define a multi-value field? For instance, a vendor (item) can operate in multiple countries (column). How can this situation be mapped?

Thank you.

currently, the only option is using a checkbox for each option.

Hi Sebastian,

thank you very much, in fact it could be a good idea, I did not think about it before.

However, the next issue is how to create a xsl file which shows in the list view only those entries which have a certain box ticked and in the detailed view only those values which are true. For instance:

List view of apple vendors (where apple is one of those checkboxes)

[magnifier], vendor A, description
[magnifier], entry B, description

clicking on the first magnifier, for instance, the resulting detailed view for vendor A should be:

vendor A, description, other data, url, etc,
sells: apples, pears, grapes (where apples, pears and grapes are checked options for that vendor)

Too complicated for me, I need some strong input, please...

Thanks,
Franco

Franco,

of course, my reply showed only a workaround, a multiselect would be much nicer and allows for a number of additional use cases. this would require a new multiselect data type using either an additional entries table or trying to squeeze all entries into a single field and try to use boolean logic, which might result in a limitation of entries to 32 or 64 items.

Hi Sebastian,

while waiting for the multiselect, if one day, I am happy to use checkboxes because I have less than 32 "categories". However, I need help to figuring out how to filter entries in the list view using Xpath expressions. Can you give me an example using <xsl:template> mechanism as typically generated by the module (see my code on the "headline management feature" question)?

Thanks a lot,

Franco
