I am building a UDT table which has two views - one is a list of various announcements, and when a user clicks on a particular announcement it goes to another page, which has the same UDT module but should filter based on the announcement they clicked on. I have two issues trying to do this.

First, I don't know if it's possible to create identity fields in UDT, or as an alternative access the userdefinedrowID value from a module.

Second, I don't know if it's possible to filter based on a querystring value. Does anyone have any ideas?

  1. you can refer to the UserDefinedRowId within a calculated column, or you can simply use it inside the filter
  2. XSL rendering has limited support to querystrings, however it is used for exactly that option.

Maybe one view is enough for you. Did you try custom XSL with Master/Detail enabled?

I used the master/detail XSL from the advancedtable.xsl sheet and that works great! Excellent module, I love the flexibility.

Tyler, you can customize it even further if you work with custom XSL stylesheets.

Switch to Custom XSL and click on "Generate New". No XSL-knowldge needed - at least not for the first steps.
