(Sorry for posting this in UDT forum too, but I really cannot wait)

Hi,

I've been trying to find where to change the CAPTCHA text "Enter the code shown above:" for its corresponding spanish translation (in the "add record" form)

As opposed to some other modules where you can go to the Languages host option, pick the corresponfing resource file and translate the various entries, the UDT "Add new Record" form seems to have the aforementioned text "harcoded", or at least it doesn't seem to fecth this specific text (with the rest I had no problems) from any resource file...

Would you please help me on this?

Thans in advance!!

               Adrián

Captcha is a core control used, the text shall be found in Global > GlobalResources or Global > SharedResources.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your answer!!  Iv'e seen the source code and that's why I inferred that it was hardcoded (or baked).

Any tips to make the change myself and recompile de corresponding DLL? I mean, I know how to work in asp.net, but have not done DNN programming... so maybe there are some more things about it than just go to the code, make a change, compile, and upload de DLL...

Is this the valid code?:

"DotNetNuke.Services.Localization.GetString("CaptchaText.Text", DotNetNuke.Services.Localization.SharedResourceFile)" ( as is shown in http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=8490&PROJID=2)

Thanks in advance!,

                Adrián

PS: My customer (and mysele, he he!) is from Argentina and that text needs to be translated into spanish... please? :-)

PS2: Wouldn't it be nice if you realeased just a patch for these kind of things instead of having to wait for the next version? (I've seen these sort of annoying little things in some other modules). BTW, I'm a newbe and I think DNN rocks!!!

Accepted Answer

Adrián,

please be aware, that this is an issue in the DNN core framework. To correct it within the UDT module you would need to create a version including a customized duplicate of the core control.

The issue has been fixed for upcoming DNN 5.
