Hey all.

Here is my situation:  I have a department directory, our organization breaks things down by department, division, section.  So each of those is a column in my UDT department directory.  What I would like to do next is create an XSL sheet that reads the Friendly url, and compares it to the values of the department column.

So for example, I may have a department name 'Development Services' - the URL is 'http://public2008/DevelopmentServices.aspx' - when I put the UDT on that page, I would like it to only pull up the Department listed in the page url.

Is this possible?

Is it clear what I am trying to do?

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks,

Alex

upcoming UDT 5 "form And List" will have the option to use URL parameters in filter expressions, for DNN4 you might use a commercial alternative.

Actually, I'm not looking for querystring parameters, I would like the actual URL of the page.

Obviously, if parameters are available, the URL could be passed as a parameter, but if the XML/XSL is dynamically generated via asp.net, there should be another way to obtain the page URL.

If there isn't a way to shoehorn it, you might look at adding the current page url as a Context item in the XML.

Thanks,

Alex

Again, form and List will help you, it introduces new tokens [Server:..], [Querystring:...] and [form:]. Server gives you access to all Servervariables.

Cool, thank you both for your assistance.

And keep up the great work on the module - it is extremely powerful!
