I would like the ability to exclude my form & List module in the site search indexing.  Specifically when using in "List" mode.  I am experiencing two undesirable behaviours:

Issue 1:
The search results from my form and List module sometime overwhelm the search results of a given query.  (This wouldn't be such a significant issue if but for Issue 2)

Issue 2:
I have the same form and List module displayed on multiple pages but with different predefined queries (filters).  This allows me to maintain one central list as opposed to several separate lists.  Unfortunately the search results (DNN default search) will show me pages where instances of the module exist however where the filter query makes it impossible to ever actually see the list item that the search believes exist on that page.

I looked at the module settings to see if there was a simple switch to include/exclude from searching but did not see it.  The closest thing I found was in the Host>Module Definitions>Configure form and List Extension Settings> Is Searchable? however the checkbox is checked and greyed out so cannot be changed.

Any insight would be appreciated.

IsSearchable has only influence on the search within the module, but not the portal wide search.

Sorry, beacuase of limittions of the core search, there is no such setting and there will never be one until DNN gets a new search engine.

I agree with Stefan, this should be a core option.

There still is an DNN3 3rd party module called USSearchModules from EchTwo, which still works and allows you to specify search options per module.

Download it from www.dnnportal.de
