Hi folks!


 I've created a new field in the user registration properties!

 

If I set a lookup filed in the forms and Lists configurations, I'm using the Token [Profile:ProfileType] but i want to show the TEXT and not the value of the property... how can I do this?

 

Hope someone can help, thanks

It always returns the value, though I must admit that I don't understand your question. What do you mean by the TEXT?

Sorry Stefan, its my fault I should have mention this is a LIST ...


Lists have two columns the VALUE and the TEXT column...

The text is what the user will see and select when registering or editing his/her profile.

Imagine the Contry list... I could grab the TEXT (Portugal) or the value (PT) right?

Thank you for the update. Yes, it queries always the value, and not the text.

This would require a new syntax, something like [Profile:PropertyName_Text] or [ProfileListText:PropertyName]. Please submit it as Enhancement request in DNN Core Framework and Modules [ PUBLIC ]

Ok I've add it!

Just thinking here... but could it be done with the column source / using the hidden column? 

Currently we can use this for other sources of that, but the hidden column table show that the lookup just gives you ONE columns (Look Up  -->  Result of Look Up)

 

Maybe it would be simple to add hidden columns specially for lists, as the lists will always have 2 columns, the value and the text!

Well I'm sure someone will figure the best way to do it, thanks for the replies Stefan!
