by default the form n List displays the following text when nothing has been entered into the text area:

"Please enter a valid value"

can the default vaalidation text be changed?

My own validation text only appears when an INVALID entry has been submitted but not when there has been NO ENTRY.

The error messages are per datatype and located in /desktopmodules/user defined table/app_resources/sharedrescources.ascx.

Open the Localization Editor (Admin->Languages) to edit the file for system or portal level.

I never would have found that.

(if only there could be some kind of lookup table for finding resource text, perhaps in a giant spreadsheet that you could CTRL + F your way through it )
