Hi,

I have had hard time with this and I can't figure it out. I really hope you can help me.

I have a udt table with (just to simplify) Player and Points columns. There are more records for every player. I need to display a list of uniqe (distinct) players and count points for every player.

Here is XSLT stylesheet.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:udt="DotNetNuke/UserDefinedTable" exclude-result-prefixes="udt">
  <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes" omit-xml-declaration="yes" />
  <!--
  This prefix is used to generate module specific query strings
  Each querystring or form value that starts with udt_{ModuleId}_param
  will be added as parameter starting with param
  -->
  <xsl:variable name="prefix_param">udt_<xsl:value-of select="//udt:Context/udt:ModuleId" />_param</xsl:variable>

  <xsl:template match="udt:Data" mode="list">
    <tr class="Normal">
      <td>
        <xsl:call-template name="EditLink" />
      </td>
      <td>
        <xsl:value-of select="udt:Player" disable-output-escaping="yes" />
      </td>
      <td>
        <xsl:value-of select="udt:Points" disable-output-escaping="yes" />
      </td>
    </tr>
  </xsl:template>

  <xsl:template match="/udt:UserDefinedTable">
    <xsl:variable name="currentData" select="udt:Data" />
    <xsl:if test="$currentData">
      <table>
        <xsl:apply-templates select="$currentData" mode="list">
        </xsl:apply-templates>
      </table>
    </xsl:if>
  </xsl:template>

  <xsl:template name="EditLink">
    <xsl:if test="udt:EditLink">
      <a href="{udt:EditLink}">
        <img border="0" alt="edit" src="{//udt:Context/udt:ApplicationPath}/images/edit.gif" />
      </a>
    </xsl:if>
  </xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

This is the unmodified default stylesheet, isn't it?

Ok, you have a table like

Player Points
A 2
B 4
A 3
A 4
B 1
C 3

but you want to return it as

Player Sum of Points
A 9
B 5
C 3

?

First you will need to group it by Player. In XSLT, you will need to learn how Munchian Grouping works. An example for FnL is posted here:

As this is a really simple example, i decided to add the solution to the documentation:

It works. Thank you very, very much.

It works. Thank you very, very much.

One more question Stefan if it is not too much to ask:

Along Players and points I have also a column with rating (it's about chess). It would be perfekt if the list can be split in four rating groups. Can this be achieved in the same xsl stylesheet you so kindly provided?

A-group Rating 2100 -
B-group Rating 1800 - 2099
C-group Rating 1500 - 1799
D-group Rating 1200 - 1499

Thans
