Thank you for a wonderful Module. I've only been using Form and List for two weeks and it has already simplified a great deal of otherwise repetitive work.
The possibility of showing the same data with different filters and different Xslt-layout really opens up a great deal of opportunities.

But, there is always a but. The limitation in DNN that prohibits more than one reference to the same module/instance on same page is an unfortunate limitation, especially for Form and List, at least in the way I would like to use it.

I haven't downloaded the source code yet, but are considering doing it, but before I just want to ask if it is impossible (I know nothing is impossible...) to create a "Secondary List Module" that excludes the forms ability, and instead reference the data from a "mother"-form-and-list-module, and have all the filtering and Xslt-possibilities?

Are there any similar plans in the backlog, or has the question been up, and put aside?

This requirement is not new to the team and pops up regularly. I would appreciate having this solved in future, though currently nobody is working on it. It should be not to difficult..

One simple approach would be a helper module which selects and existing FNL module as source, and then just to copy the XSLT rendering from list.ascx.*. Do you like to volunteer? I appreciate any helping hand.

The only existing work around is to use Reports module together with the FormAndList Datasource. However this approach has some limitations, as the XML returned by the reports module is not the same as within the FnL module and requires a modified XSLT.

Thanks for your reply Stefan.

I have now downloaded the source code, and I have a copy of a Wrox book about DNN ,that includes some chapters about developing modules. I wont promise anything right now, but I will look in to it and give it a try. My VB knowledge is a bit rusty. I am originally a VB developer, but I converted to C# several years ago.

As soon as I have looked in to the code more deeper, I will get back to you on your mailaddress.

I solved this problem by creating two pages for lists with different filters under the page for the data entry. Not as nice as I would like, but works. The only problem I have left is that I set registered users only to be able to post, but logging in as a registered user and posting does not work. It says it was posted successfully, but in reality there is no record.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you currently solve the issue of displaying repetitive dropdown fields like Countries, Cities, etc? Since we currently cannot create a separate list for Countries and reference it in a 'Look-Up' field from another Form, how did you solve this limitation?
