I am thinking of writing up a comparison between a number of (free and commercial) alternatives for implementing a questionnaire. Ideally this would be a blog, but as far as I can see blogging on this site is not open for everyone.

A couple of questions:
* Sebastian would you be willing to cooperate? [I'll do (most of) the work.]
* Are blogs unlimitedly editable (for the writer of the blog)? I would like to be able to expand and update it.

Thx.

I did some searching for modules that can support surveys, questionnaires, Request For Proposals (RFPs), and submission forms and came up with the following list of core, free and commercial modules.

A disappointingly large part of the companies their websites raises fears that the quality of that particular module is not to good.

Sebastian could you elaborate on what you meant with dynamic DLL (with respect to this topic)?

I planned to test the modules on at least the following aspects:

  • Module version tested
  • Min. ASP.NET version needed
  • Min. DNN version needed
  • Min. SQL Server version needed
  • Which input controls can be used?
  • Tracking of Change to Response(s) (Audit)
  • Determine if and where in DB to save answers
  • Hidden Link to Website of Company
  • File formats to export to
  • Is conditional logic possible
  • How can questions be reordered
  • Can form events be defined
  • Can JavaScript be added
  • Can respondents upload a file?
  • Captcha?

Any remarks and suggestions are welcome. (Given my findings of the companies websites and what this might mean for the quality of the modules (which I mentioned in my previous post) I am beginning to doubt if this is such a good exercise.)
