How on earth to i get a multiline text box? I can get a single-line textbox but that's it... this one evades me.

hey deadbird, use Datatype "rich text (html)" and enable the "Plain Text Box".

if you are using DNN6, the text "Plain Text Box" doesn't pop up, instead you will read "Normalize Flag (Placeholder)".

Ahh thanks Stefan! I wondered what that "normalize flag" was but never thought to check it. I take it there's no way to apply a CSS to that...

I'd never have guessed the meaning of that one!

But, now is it possible to set the height and width of the box?
