Great stuff! Been wondering how to do this myself for months. Sort of related... I have a drop-down that contains countries, but there seems to be a limit on the amount of countries I can put in the drop-down field (stops around half way through my list). Is there a way to have a drop-down field with unlimited or more capacity data items?

I was able to set the width of the box by styling "textarea."

How did you load the list of countries? I want to create a dropdown that has the list of US States.

Joe,

My idea was to download a comma-seperated list of countries and then paste them in a text field set as a drop-down. But when I pasted them in, I was only able to get about half of them. List of states may not be a problem with running out hitting the character limit, just try it.

Meanwhile I hope someone can help me figure out either how to properly add a drop-down with a large amount of data such as a list of all major countries.

Steven, check your list for any special characters. Sometimes it just takes one funky character to mess up the parser. Check the last successfully added entry and the one after that.

Joe, were you able to set the width as well?

I found a list of states in another thread, so that worked for me.

Regarding the list of countries, the field in the UserDefinedFields table that stores the text is defined as nvarchar(2000).  So, you will be limited.  If you need more space -- and you will for a list of countries -- I think that you'll need to create a custom version of the Form & List module.  Since it is available in source format, this should not be a difficult thing to do.  You may, though, need to make sure that you are using SQL Server 2008 (?).
