Hi all, could anyone please help - I have a simple date field in a form and List module. The field definition has the output format set to dd/MM/yyyy, but when I select a date from the datepicker for a new record or to edit a record, it is displayed on the form in MM/dd/yyyy format. When displayed as part of a list, it is correctly showing as dd/MM/yyyy.Is this a known bug and is there any way around it?I am using Firefox browser.regardsTony

Tony,

  • the output format is only used for output in list.
  • the format of the date in the edit form is strongly correlated to your localization. This is independent from Form and List, it happens for all dates in DotNetNuke. As an example, try to switch to en-UK instead of en-US.

Thanks Stefan. However, my system locale is already set to en-UK with a dd/MM/yyyy short date format. I am working with community edition version 06.02.04 (63), and the problem is there in both Firefox & IE.(Haven't tried any other browsers)RegardsTony

Tony,
I cannot reproduce. I tested the following in two portals, one is setup in German, the second for English (United kingdom):

  • Created a FnL module with a field of type date.
  • No special formating

The German portal renders date to 13.11.2012, the English one to 13/11/12 both in edit form and in list.

Just  to be sure: I set the language in Admin-> Languages.

System default: English (united States)
site default: English (united kingdom)

Locale lists up us, uk and de. Only English (UK) is enabled.

Stefan
