Hello -

I am having an issue using the Forms and List module.  We are using this module to create an image rotator, it functions by having defined columns capturing things like title, image, description, link url, etc. - these items are then fed through an xsl file which outputs HTML that is then picked up by a JavaScript file to create the rotator.  Everything works perfectly for users in the administrative role, however all other users cannot see the slides that are created.  Interestingly, when the module is configured to display the Default Grid Table all records show for all users.  Has anyone else had a similar issue?

We're on DNN 8.2, and are using version 6.1 of the F&L module.

Thanks

do you have a specific permission check in your xsl and did you check the filter expression?

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you very much for your reply.  We do not have any permission checks (udt:UserRoles) in the xsl, and the filter expression on the Page Related Settings tab is blank.

After working through it more I believe the issue is related to a Calculated Column not evaluating correctly.  We added a column to the schema called Published, that is evaluating whether or not a slide should be displayed based on a start and end date.  The xsl tests this column to determine whether or not to display the slide.  When I put the page in default grid mode, the published column is there and is True, but when I have the xsl output the data in xml format, the column is not listed at all.  When I remove the test from the xsl, the slides show up for non admin users (admin users are seeing the slides because there is an or condition looking at a different field).  Have you seen anything like this before?

Thanks again.

I am not aware of an issue in XML, however, you might need to check the datatype and need to use one of the hidden DNN columns (see inline help popup and documentation)

Thanks Sebastian - we've decided to work around the calculate column issue for now.

Thanks again.
