Table references table records

Is it possible to create tables with fields whose field value can be selected from a drop down list populated with registers from another table?

What I would like to do is to create several primary tables and then create a more compex table whose fields are constrained by the values of the primary tables.

For example a product inventory table that has two columns product and quantity. Where the product column is a dropdown column that gets its values from another table (product table)

No, there is currently no option to realize this with UserDefinedTable, and this feature is currently not on the top of your developement plans. You will either need to develope a custom module on your own or use a 3rd party module, that allows additional options. There is a module called "Custom Forms and Lists" under developement by gamma concept, that allows the definition and display of 1:n-Relations.

I have the need of creating a custom table wich takes values from many "child-tables" . What I am looking to do is create the child tables with UDT as it saves a lot of effort and then create a module or piece of software that can "use" them.

Is this possible? If it is, where can I find information on the inner-workings of UDT to be able to use the tables it creates from another module? Is this possible?

Benicio,

you can define value lists for text and integer fields, but there is no relationship between UDT modules implemented yet. you will need to implement this yourself, please refer to the source code for details.
