Hi, how do I use the custom user property?

I'm quering Google base, but the BQ property can have multiple values, I'm not sure how to put those values into the query string.

eg:

xml location: http://www.google.com/base/feeds/snippets/-/jobs

query string parameters

Name: bq

Data Origin: Static value [location:@uk]

I'd like the 'uk' value to be retrieved from a query string, is there a way to do this with the custom user property?

Cheers

Russ

if you want to path the outer query string param "outer" (e.g. www.mydnnserver.com/xmlmodule/tab/123/default.aspx?outer=uk) as the querystring param "inner" (e.g. www.myxmlsource.com/thefeed/?inner=uk), you set up a parameter

Name: inner
Data orgin: QueryString Passthrough (outer)

Hi Stefan, thank you for your reply.

I understand the outer query string param - the problem is that the Google base parameters aren't in name=value pairs

The Google base query separates the query with square brackets and colons:

bq=text query [attrib_name(attrib_type):value] [attrib_name(attrib_type):value] ...
eg:
bq=cinemas [location:birmingham,uk]
to search for cinemas located near Birmingham.

Thank you for pointing to that query syntax. For all others: here is the reference for that syntax: http://code.google.com/apis/base/attrs-queries.html#URLQuer. XML module doesn't support free formed urls. It would not be too difficult to add also a token replace based URL syntax.

Do you think this is a wide spread requirement?

Hi Stefan

Using tokens would be a great solution.

I'm not entirely sure but I believe the Google query language can also be used for Google spreadsheets and Gmail

Thanks

Russ
