Chris -

I'm having a number of problems setting up role avatars on my site.  It seems that not all of the roles I've set up as global roles actually show as available to set role avatars for.  I have 35 roles set up (lots of different headings in our site) but only 6 are allowing me to set up avatars for them.  Is there a lot of bugs with the avatar management within the current version of the forums?

Seems my last post was approved by isn't showing.

So, my question is this:

I currently have about 35 roles set up (lots of people with individual roles) but only 6 of those roles show on the Role Avatar screen.  For the ones where I have been able to assign an Avatar, with only the Role Avatar enabled, the forum doesn't render the Avatars at all.

Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

This is version 04.05.03 again.

Sorry about the double post.  It seems that restarting the host application refreshed the data table.  How are the AJAX controls and the info they contain in the ACP cached?

The problem isn't how the ACP or controls it hosts (ie. the avatar control in this case) uses cache, the problem is the forum itself doesn't reset the cache for every user in the role. What this means is when you assign an avatar to a role, any users who have had their account info retrieved by the forum module will not display the role avatar until the next cycle of the cache (this would be anyone who was a latest post author, or someone viewed the particular users profile profile, or someone sent them a PM or someone saw a thread or post that the user contributed to). Right now, there is no code to reset the forum cache of user information becuase the only way to do it would be to loop through all users in a role and clear their profile cache (which can be extremely intense on a huge site like dnn.com if you used Registered Users role for example).
