Hello,

does the current version on the forum (3.2.1) make use of the DNN's user/membership info or it has its own?

I'm planning on using this with DNN version 4.x

thanks in advance.

It uses what membership info it can which the core provides through its own Provider which is using the MemberRole.  There are other items in the Forum_Users table to extend what the core provides.

I guess my initial question wasn't all that clear.
What i wanted to know was that: If a registered user to my site (DNN 4.x), would that user need to re-register specifically for the forum in order to post on the forum, assumming that only registered users can post.
So the bottom line is that do i need to maintain 2 sets of user lists (DNN & Forum users)

thanks,

DNN users are automatically added as forum users the first time they visit it.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?
