Sorry if this question has been asked a lot.

Is there a way to allow registerd users the ability to edit their own posts without giving them permission to edit everyones post? or do they have to be named moderator?

Thanks in advance

msk100,

The role registered users should have edit permissions on a module level and you should set your users as a trusted user in the forum maintenance.

Check out this thread.

Marc

Trusted members is the way to go.  NOTE that marking a user as trusted must be done specifically user by user and also will bypass moderation if enabled on any of your forums.
