Is it possible to setup the core Forums module to be searchable using the Portal-wide search?  I've dug around and can't find an answer to this either way.

I've noticed the Active Forums pay module highlights this feature as a reason to buy the module, which leads me to believe it isn't available in the free core forum module.  Still, the core forums module has so many features I would think this would have made it into version 1.

Thanks in advance!

This has been a feature since the module first launched.  Your module is exposed to search as long as you have the search services functioning properly.  There is a small problem w/ the way the module exposes its data to indexing.  It still works but requires some manual process.  There is a thread here about how it uses last index date. (Might be in developing forums forum).  We will be adding an ability to control this from the module as well.

Thanks for the response.

I can't find the post you are referring to.  Does anyone know what manual process I need to do to get the search to work properly?  I've read the new instructions manual, but it just says that "the search needs to be properly configured."

I can't imagine many others have gotten this to work unless they've somehow found this thread you described.  Seems like a thread like that should be pinned to the top of the forum.

Anyone know what Crispy is referring to here?  How can you manually setup the Forums to be searchable via the Portal search.

There is a module setting per forum moduleid in the ModuleSettings table.  Its keyname is LastindexDate, delete its value (set to 1/1/2000) or something.
