I am using DNN 3.1.0 hosting offered by Godaddy, and I cannot get my forum to allow my users to post a new thread.  After going to manage forums, and selecting the settings for a various forum, I set the authorized edit roles to allow all the roles to post, however when a user accesses the forum there is no option for starting a new thread.  The permissions to view various forums is working, however I can only get the option to start a new thread under the admininstrator login.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well, if i give all registered users the right to edit the module, then they have the ability to start a new thread. however, this is bad, at least on my installation, because it allows all registered users to edit the page like an admin would. i just want them to see the finished product and be able to post.

Guys, please see the docs if you require further explanation but...

Giving edit rights to registered users to the module is fine.  You do not need to further restrict each forum as a private forum unless you want to restrict further than Registered Users for a specific forum.  You don't have to give edit rights to the page.  This is how it is setup here on these forums and it works just fine.

Giving edit permissions to registered users is fine.  This only gives the right to post in the forums to that roll.  The only roll that is able to edit the module like an admin would is one of the admin users, admin or host.  The forum administration menu item will only show up for users with admin privileges.
