jcasal, this is already fixed in the 3.20.01 release which went out in December.

Hello,

We are using the Forum module and getting the same notification problem... getting none.

We are using Forum 3.10.04 with DNN 3.1.1.

First am I correct that Forum 3.2.x is NOT for DNN 3.1.1?
If so then will there be a fix in Forum 3.10.04 for the notification issues.

Thanks for your time and efforts.

Please upgrade the module to 3.20.01.  It can run on 3.1.1 or greater.

Ok, I have updated to the 3.2.x and this looks much better, but setting the forum to a type of notification, giving the notification rights, and so on... but still it will not send out a notification to anyone.  Is the forum type of notification still broke?

A point of clarification... on a thread by thread basis if I check the notification box there I do get emails to repsonses there... but not when setting the forum type to notification.

Thanks

I know that earlier in this thread Chris said notifications were working, however I noticed on page 29 of his user manual it states that when a forum is set to Notification type, rather than Normal type, the functionality to support this is broken.

I'm sure Chris will let us know whether the code is broken as he states in the manual, or his user manual is out of date. However I tried tried this, and haven't got any mails from it yet

Other than that I know the other types of notification are working, whether by thread or by forum on a per user basis.

Cheers
Roger

I was able to get notification by check the box when I start a thread, checking the box saying to follow a thread, AND going in my settings and tracking a forum.

This will allow things to work like I want for now, but would love to have the other working so I don't have to have all of the users of a particular forum do the extra step.

Thanks
