Hi,

Please let me know how i can fix this bug, I found it when i tried to set the General settings of

a forrum .While setting the

Theads per page,

Posts per page,

popular view Status,

popular reply status

I gave 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000  as size of  Posts per page

it got updated which i need to restrict. How can i restrict user from giving such a large

size for no of posts per page.

Thanks in advance.

well don't give admin rights to the users so they cannot change the settings.

Hi,

yes, I have taken care of that, all users other than admin do not have access rights to change the settings

of forums. But admin is also a user and if u see my other post  "Forums got deleted"  related to the same issue

u can find that user(admin) might unknowingly leave something empty like Posts per Page textbox and update or

give 0 in that textbox and update then forum module is getting deleted. Please let me know how can i validate

that textbox.

Thanks.

Hi,

I fixed this error at the Presentation layer by using Required field validators .Now  the posts per page textbox does not accept empty values and thus my forums module does not get deleted . To fix the size of textbox i used Maximum length property so that the textboxes do not accept lengthy values like 100000000000000000000000000......
