I enabled file attachments and this seems to allow the user to attach files that are pre-set on the server to be available for attachment.  Can they not upload files for attachment as an option?  Am I missing something?

Upload capabilities depend on your folder permissions access via the DNN File Manager. If a role has permissions to upload to a folder, the URL Controller will show the "Upload File" link.

When I do this, Registered Users have to navigate to the appropiate folder to have the upload link show up.  

How do I set this so that the default isn't the Root directory, but rather a folder I specifed to have upload permissions?

(note: I was able to do this for the Insert Image feature, it's just the upload attachment option below the editor I can't configure.

I'm looking for the same.   Anyway, it would be great to not give users an option of what server directory to use or even to view what files are in that directory.

What is odd is you can disable attachments, but it's still available through the FCKEditor...   This is my current workaround.
